How Pepetho verifies a pet hotel before it goes live

Every listing is checked by a person before it can take a booking. Here is what we look at, what we ask pet hotels to send, and what the verified badge does and does not promise.

Pepetho team

Trust is the whole product. If you cannot tell whether a pet hotel is real, whether the photos are theirs, or whether anyone will answer when you call, no app can fix that. So every pet hotel on Pepetho is reviewed by the Pepetho team before its listing can accept a booking. This is what that review covers.

What we check

The place exists and is theirs. We ask for the address, a pinned map location, and recent photos of the rooms, the play area, and the entrance. The photos must be taken by the owner, not pulled from elsewhere, and they have to match the address.

The business can be paid. Payouts go to a business bank account in the owner's name. We match the account name against the registration details, because a listing that cannot be paid cannot honour a refund either.

The rules are written down. Vaccine requirements, drop-off and pickup hours, the cancellation deadline, and what happens on a no-show are all part of the listing. If a rule is missing, the listing is sent back with a note.

Someone answers. We call the number on the listing. A listing whose phone nobody picks up does not go live.

What the badge means

A verified badge means the four checks above passed on the day of review. It does not rate the quality of care, and it is not a guarantee against a bad stay. That is what daily updates, the review after checkout, and the refund rules are for.

Verification is repeated when a pet hotel changes its address, its bank account, or its photos. A listing that fails a repeat check is paused, not deleted, until the owner fixes what changed.

What pet hotels should prepare

If you run a pet hotel and want the review to take days rather than weeks, have these ready before you apply: the vaccination policy you actually enforce, photos of every room type you plan to list, your bank account details, and your cancellation deadline in hours before check-in. The sign-up form asks for exactly these, in that order.
